The Star of Kazan by Eva Ibbotson June 30, 2009

The Star of Kazan is a thrilling book by Eva Ibbotson. It’s about a young girl called Annika who was found in a chapel when she was a baby by Ellie and Sigrid when they went on their monthly climb up a near by hill.  She grows up in Vienna, in the professors’ house where Ellie and Sigrid are servants.  She is really happy there, with good friends, but several years later her mother turns up to collect her and take her back home. I really enjoyed this book so I recommended it to my book club and most of them enjoyed it.  If you liked Journey to the River Sea, you should like this too.
